Our company

Hoogendijk has been a household name in the international seafood trade for ten generations already. Over the past 265 years, we have developed from shipowning company, seafood processors, smokehouse owner and trader into renowned seafood importers and exporters. The expertise built up over the years forms the strong foundation of today's Hoogendijk. As a closely-knit team we are very flexible and pro-active. All activities are monitored centrally from our Vlaardingen offices. To us, the customer and service always come first. Our communication lines are short, enabling us to deliver fast service to our national and international customers at all times. On a daily basis, products arrive at the Hoogendijk premises to be immediately inspected, registered and then stored in the cold-storage warehouse or delivered directly to our customers.

Product range

Hoogendijk offers an extensive range of seafood generally directly available from stock. Our tilapia, squid, prawns, croakers, pangasius, mackerel and horse mackerel are the best-known products but our range extends much further. The Ultimate Taste®

Many of our products are tailor-made for us at their source. In the factories selected and monitored by us, seafood and seafood products are - subject to stringent requirements - processed, deep-frozen and packed under the registered The Ultimate Taste®-label. Hoogendijk selects a factory on the basis of the following standards: proven track record, quality, continuity, sustainability and obviously, price. By our The Ultimate Taste®-label we can be recognised by all market parties. Our label guarantees our customers a constant high-quality of seafood and seafood products at a competitive price.

EU approved cold store

Hoogendijk owns a recognised cold-storage warehouse registered under no. NL 6096 EU. This state of the art cold store is provided with continuous automatic climate control and electrical equipment with back-up. This ensures a safe storage of seafood, maintaining high quality during the storage period. With the help of our automated batch registration system all movement of goods is on record. From the moment of loading until the moment of delivery to our customers.

Transport

One pallet of deep-frozen seafood to Helsinki, three pallets to Lisbon, a container to China, Hoogendijk will do it. Fast and faultless. We do not operate alone; for years we have been cooperating successfully with reliable and registered frozen foods transporters and shipowners. Some customers prefer to come and collect the deep-frozen seafood or seafood products from our premises themselves. At your service!. We ensure minimum waiting times for loading your lorry, delivery van or deep-freeze container.

Sustainability and certification

Sustainability applies to all business processes at Hoogendijk. To the cold-storage warehouses, the office and obviously, to our products. In addition to a MSC certification for sustainable fishing we expect an ASC certification for aquaculture products next year. Moreover, at present our company is working towards an ISO 22000 certification. This process will be completed in mid- 2011.
